Foundation stone laid for river lighthouses at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati
The foundation stone for river lighthouses was laid at Lachit Ghat in Guwahati, Assam, on Thursday. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the event as the chief guest.
Speaking at the event, the Union Minister stated that the river lighthouses to be constructed at Pandu, Biswanath Ghat, Silghat, and Bogibeel on the Brahmaputra (National Waterway-2) will provide a new boost to river tourism in the region.
The event was also attended by Guwahati Lok Sabha MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi, Ministers Ranjeet Das and Jayanta Mallabaruah, along with several other dignitaries.
