February 19, New Delhi – Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the future of AI will be shaped by those who combine innovation and responsibility, and that India and France will work together to build this future.
He praised India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI), noting that the country has achieved something that no other nation has – creating a digital identity system that serves all 1.4 billion citizens.
