Bengaluru, February 17 French Defence Minister Catherine Vautrin arrived here on Tuesday to attend a TASL programme being organized at Vemagal village in Kolar.

The visit highlights the growing industrial partnership between India and France in the aerospace and defense sectors.

"French Defence Minister Ms. Catherine Vautrin arrived in Bengaluru today to participate in the TASL programme being organized at Vemagal village in Kolar," an official press release said.

The Minister landed at HAL Airport in the city by a special aircraft and was accorded a ceremonial reception.

"The French Minister, who arrived at HAL Airport in Bengaluru by a special aircraft, was accorded a guard of honor by various military forces," the statement said.

She is scheduled to participate in the TASL inauguration programme at Vemagal village along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

"She will participate in the TASL inauguration programme at Vemagal village in Kolar along with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and later return to New Delhi in the evening," the release added.

Tata Advanced Systems Limited's (TASL) facility is said to be India's first private sector helicopter final assembly line.

TASL said the inauguration of the facility at Vemagal underscores the deepening strategic partnership, while significantly advancing India's aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
