Jammu and Kashmir is expected to witness a prolonged spell of erratic weather till April 10, with intermittent rain and snowfall across the region.

According to the Meteorological Centre Srinagar, light to moderate rain and snow are likely at most places on April 3–4, accompanied by thunderstorms, hailstorms and gusty winds at isolated locations. Higher reaches may receive moderate to heavy snowfall during this period.

Another spell of rain and snow is forecast between April 7 and 9 across several parts of the Union Territory.

Authorities have cautioned about the possibility of landslides in vulnerable areas and waterlogging in low-lying regions due to the prevailing weather conditions.

Farmers have been advised to suspend agricultural operations, while travellers are urged to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience.

Officials have appealed to the public to remain cautious and adhere to advisories to ensure safety during the period.
