KATHUA, March 5, 2026: Vikrant Sharma, a young farmer from the Korepunnu village in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua, has achieved success in the horticulture sector by cultivating strawberries. Starting with 20,000 plants with support from the Department of Horticulture, he expanded to nearly one lakh plants and now earns over ₹10 lakh annually while providing employment to around 15 people, including women. His journey is inspiring other young people to adopt profitable horticultural crops and achieve self-sufficiency.
