Mumbai, April 6 – Some incidents tend to leave a lasting impact, pushing us to become better versions of ourselves. Let’s revisit the time when renowned filmmaker Karan Johar revealed the pivotal incident that transformed him from an average student into a top performer.
During his appearance on the popular celebrity chat show, "Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai," where he appeared with his parents, Yash and Hiroo Johar, host Suresh Oberoi reminded them of the time when Karan left his boarding school just after being there for two days.
Recalling the incident, both Yash and Hiroo Johar admitted that it was a turning point in their son's life.
Yash Johar revealed that after returning home, the creator of "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" promised his mother that he would make her proud one day.
He added that from then on, Karan became extremely dedicated to his studies and started consistently coming first in his class, a habit that continued throughout his academic life.
Sharing what Karan had said, Yash revealed, "I know you have spent a lot of money on my school fees and other expenses. My principal also scolded me, saying that I had jeopardized another student's career, who would have gotten a place here. I will ensure that I become so successful that you will be proud of me."
Yash Johar added that from that day onwards, Karan consistently came first in school, a habit that continued even during his college days.
Following his directorial debut with the romantic comedy-drama "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" (1998), KJo has given Bollywood some noteworthy cinematic gems such as "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" (2001), "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" (2006), "My Name Is Khan" (2010), "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" (2016), and most recently, "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" (2023).
