Los Angeles, March 4 – Hollywood actress-singer Keke Palmer has revealed that she feels a touch of envy towards her 3-year-old son, Leodis Jackson, who leads a charmed little life.
The actress-singer revealed that he spent a significant portion of last fall in Australia, accompanying his mother on the set of ‘Spaceballs 2’, according to ‘Variety’.
At Leodis' birthday party last month, Raven-Symone and Vic Mensa were among the high-profile attendees getting their faces painted and jumping in the bounce house. And while other toddlers dress up as Minions or the superhero of the day every Halloween, Leo opts for something more sophisticated. He was the equivalent of "Bow Wow" to Palmer's "Snoop Dogg" for their annual photo shoot in 2025, and their costumes in the previous two years referenced "The Bride of Frankenstein" and "Game of Thrones".
According to ‘Variety’, Keke Palmer, 32, was not raised in that kind of environment. "As the child grows, you start to see how they are living, and then you start to think, 'Why can't I live like that?'", she said, starting to laugh before she could finish her thought.
However, she is not really talking about the glamour and luxury that Leo enjoys. It is the warmth, care, and simplicity in his life that Palmer desires for herself.
She said, "As you watch your child grow, you start to realize what you need and what you are missing, and then you think, 'I need to give myself that too'. Because the way that this child is being loved, and the way I see the child responding to that love, suddenly I realize not just what I lacked, but what I am responsible to give myself".
She clarifies that she does not intend to criticize how her parents raised her, "I am not a child, so I can't go back to Sharon and Larry and say, 'Why didn't you?' That would be childish. So I have to now say, 'Well, whatever it was that I needed and didn't get, I have the capacity to offer my son, and I am responsible to do that for myself too'", she added.
