
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 20: The Department of Horticulture, Jammu, concluded a training program on Fruit Tree Management under the Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement Project at Udheywalla.
Organized under the guidance of Chief Horticulture Officer R.K. Kotwal, the program was attended by Rakesh Kumar Bhagat (DLSMS Jammu), Prof. Dr. Deepji Bhat, Prof. Dr. Anju Bhat, the Horticulture Development Officer, Bhalwal, and field staff.
Farmers were trained in scientific orchard practices, including pruning, canopy management, balanced nutrition, pest and disease control, and orchard hygiene. Experts emphasized adopting modern, sustainable techniques to boost productivity and income.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks, reaffirming the Department's commitment to strengthening the horticulture sector through capacity-building initiatives.
