Fuel Price Relief: India's Response to Global Market Volatility.webp

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swift and decisive action to protect 1.4 billion Indians from price and supply shocks caused by the West Asia crisis, which has impacted energy and commodity markets. In a social media post, Dr. Jaishankar stated that the reduction of 10 litres each in central excise duty on petrol and diesel for domestic consumption will provide consumers with protection against rising prices. He also added that the export duties of 21.5 per litre on diesel and 29.5 per litre on Aviation Turbine Fuel will ensure adequate domestic availability. He further emphasized that this is the government's citizen-centric approach to ensure the affordability and ease of living for the Indian people.
