Fuel Supply Situation: Telangana Government Takes Proactive Steps.webp

Hyderabad, March 27 Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said on Friday that his government is closely monitoring the fuel supply situation in the state by setting up a committee.

Reddy, who participated in the video conference held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with chief ministers over the West Asia situation, said the committee headed by Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao is regularly reviewing the supply of petrol, diesel, and gas.

According to an official release, committees have been formed in all the 33 districts to prevent the black marketing of fuel.

The government is ensuring the supply of commercial LPG to hospitals, schools, orphanages, and old age homes.

Officials are supervising the fuel stocks at each petrol station and their consumption.

Noting that 36,189 kilo litres of petrol and diesel is normally consumed in Telangana, he said that 1,88,210 kilo litres is currently available in the state.

The state government is taking action against those spreading misinformation on social media that could cause panic among people, he said.

Highlighting that the state government is promoting electric vehicles, the CM said that registration fees and road tax have been waived for electric vehicles.

The 1.20 lakh petrol and diesel-based auto-rickshaws in Hyderabad are being retrofitted to convert them into electric vehicles, he said.

The state-run Road Transport Corporation (RTC) will use electric buses in the future, Reddy added.
