New Delhi, March 11 Rahul Gandhi echoed the language of "radicalized Islamists" who make derogatory remarks about Hindus, particularly regarding "cow urine," as a way to demean their faith, the BJP said on Wednesday while criticizing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his comments at a recent event.

In a post on X, BJP IT department head Amit Malviya also shared a video of the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, stating that political discourse in the country should focus on issues related to data rather than debates on "what we should eat and drink" or "whether cow urine is good for you."

Malviya said in his post, "The most radicalized Islamists often make derogatory remarks about Hindus, particularly regarding 'gau mutra' (cow urine), as a way to mock and demean their faith. One would not expect the Leader of the Opposition to use the same language. Yet, Rahul Gandhi seems determined to make his position clear."

"What is truly tragic is that such rhetoric is presented as 'plain speaking,' and, worse, passed off as ideological intellectualism," he added.

In the video, Gandhi is responding to a question about the role of data and innovation.

"That is one of the central questions that Indian politics should be discussing. That this is our biggest resource. How are we going to utilize it? What is its nature? Who has access to it? At what cost do they have access to it?" Gandhi is heard saying.

"These are the questions the political system should be discussing, not whether we should eat or drink something and whether cow urine is good for you," he adds.
