Gas Leak Causes Fire, Injuries Migrant Workers in Yamunanagar.webp

Yamunanagar, April 9 Eleven people, including seven children, suffered burn injuries on Thursday after a fire broke out due to a gas cylinder leak at a residential complex for migrant workers in Yamunanagar, Haryana, police said.

"According to preliminary information, there was a gas leak from the cylinder, and soon a fire broke out, causing the walls of the complex to collapse," a police official said, adding that the incident took place in the Salempur Bangar area.

The area where the incident occurred is adjacent to a factory where migrant workers are employed, he said.

"Seven children, two women, and two men were injured in the incident. After the incident, the injured were taken to the Civil Hospital. Some of the injured who suffered serious burn injuries have been referred to PGIMER in Chandigarh," he said.

Further investigations into the incident are ongoing, he said.
