New Delhi, February 17 Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates will not be attending the AI Impact Summit, according to government sources.
Gates was listed among the tech moguls, industry leaders, policymakers, founders, and technologists who were scheduled to speak at the official website of the India Impact Summit, which is taking place in the national capital from February 16-20.
However, the summit website did not include his name on Tuesday.
Government sources stated that Gates will not be attending the Summit.
They said this decision is related to Gates being named in new files concerning the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
While Gates has not been accused of any wrongdoing by Epstein's victims, records released by the US Justice Department include an allegation by Epstein that Bill Gates contracted a sexually transmitted disease.
Gates's spokesperson has called the claim "absolutely absurd."
Last week, Nvidia announced that its CEO Jensen Huang would not be traveling to India to attend the Summit. Huang was one of the main attractions at the Summit.
While the company had not given any reason for the decision, some had linked it to Gates's presence at the event.
