Giridih, April 4 A man was arrested in the Giridih district of Jharkhand on Saturday for allegedly repeatedly raping a 13-year-old girl, resulting in her pregnancy, police said.
The 35-year-old man was arrested after the family of the girl, who is four months pregnant, filed a police complaint, they said.
"The accused had repeatedly sexually assaulted the minor. He has confessed to the crime," said Jayprakash Kumar, the officer-in-charge of the Gawan police station.
"The FIR was filed after the girl's parents noticed suspicious physical changes in her body. Upon questioning, the victim told them that the man had been sexually abusing her and had threatened to kill her if she disclosed it to anyone," he said.
