
New Delhi, March 30 Gold prices rose by Rs 518 to Rs 1,44,800 per 10 grams in futures trading on Monday, driven by fresh speculative positions created due to strong spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for April delivery rose by Rs 518, or 0.36 percent, to Rs 1,44,800 per 10 grams in a trading volume of 25 lots.
Analysts said that the rise in gold prices was due to the fresh positions taken by participants.
Globally, gold futures rose by 0.78 percent to USD 4,528.23 per ounce in New York.
