
New Delhi, March 6 Gold prices rose by Rs 848 to Rs 1,60,521 per 10 grams in futures trading on Friday, as speculators created fresh positions due to firm spot demand.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for April delivery traded higher by Rs 848, or 0.53 per cent, at Rs 1,60,521 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 1,272 lots.
Analysts said that the rise in gold prices was due to fresh positions taken by participants.
Globally, gold futures rose by 0.70 per cent to USD 5,115.76 per ounce in New York.
