Gondia Administrative Complex Faces Power Disconnection.webp

Gondia, Apr 3 The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited disconnected power supply to the new administrative building in Gondia due to non-payment of dues, an official said on Friday.

The building, constructed eight years ago at a cost of Rs 29 crore, houses offices of the sub-division, district agriculture superintendent, district information department, tehsildars, deputy land registrar and assistant charity commissioner, among others.

It is the hub of the district administrative mechanism and is visited by thousands of people daily, many of whom were seen struggling due to the power supply disruption, leaving lifts non-operational and amenities like washrooms without lights.

Officials said the outstanding electricity payment stands at Rs 90,000.

"We have deposited the payment now and are expecting electricity supply to be restored soon," SDO Chandrabhan Khandait added.
