Amaravati, March 11 Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday criticized YSRCP supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of "repeatedly obstructing" development and employment opportunities in the state.
The IT Minister's comments came after YSRCP MP M Gurumurthy filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Andhra Pradesh High Court against the Google AI data centre in Visakhapatnam.
"Jagan has consistently opposed development initiatives in the state – from opposing the Amaravati capital project to cancelling power contracts and filing cases against IT development centres aimed at creating employment," Lokesh said in a post on X.
Lokesh alleged that the PIL reflects the YSRCP's "continued opposition to projects that create jobs for the youth".
According to the TDP general secretary, the PIL against the Google data centre, reportedly India's largest Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), raises serious concerns about the YSRCP leadership's approach to investments and job creation.
Calling Jagan "anti-development," Lokesh remarked that such alleged actions show hostility towards the aspirations of Andhra Pradesh's youth, who are looking for opportunities in emerging technology sectors.
Furthermore, he noted that Andhra Pradesh has made progress on the path of development and investment, and attempts to block projects involving global technology companies and employment opportunities will not succeed.
