Gorakhpur (UP), March 25 A man died in a violent altercation that occurred due to a domestic dispute in the Ramgarh Tal area here, police said on Wednesday.
His wife and son have been arrested in connection with the incident, they said.
According to police officials, the incident took place late on Tuesday in Kanshiram Colony, under the Ramgarh Tal police station area, where Ramesh Beldar had an argument with his wife, Geeta, and son, Pankaj.
The dispute turned violent, and Ramesh was allegedly assaulted with a piece of wooden furniture, resulting in serious injuries. He died shortly thereafter.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Nimish Patil said that upon receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
He said that Geeta Beldar, the deceased's wife, and Pankaj Beldar, his son, were arrested on Wednesday morning.
Patil further stated that preliminary investigations suggest that the case is related to a domestic dispute, although all aspects of the matter are being investigated.
