Gorakhpur (UP), April 6 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday assured financial assistance to individuals seeking aid for treatment of serious illnesses, according to an official statement.
During a Janata Darshan held at the Gorakhnath Temple here, Adityanath met nearly 200 people at the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhavan auditorium within the temple premises.
Addressing the applicants at the event, the chief minister asked them to obtain treatment estimates from recognized hospitals, after which adequate financial aid would be provided.
He also directed officials to expedite the collection of medical estimates and forward them to the government, ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive assistance from the chief minister's discretionary fund.
"No one needs to worry or panic. Every issue will be addressed effectively," he said.
The chief minister, in one instance, assured a woman that the government would bear the expenses for her relative's cancer treatment, once an estimate from a government hospital is submitted.
Separately, he directed officials to arrange school fees for one girl facing financial difficulties, and to facilitate pension and other scheme benefits for another woman.
