
The government has announced a set of 33 questions that will be asked during the first phase of the 2027 Census. Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Registrar General and Census Commissioner of India, Mritunjay Kumar Narayan, stated that the census will be conducted in two phases. Mr. Narayan explained that house listing and self-enumeration will be carried out in the first phase, between April 1st and September 30th, as per the schedules finalized by the States and Union Territories. The Commissioner also noted that the self-enumeration portal will be available in 16 languages.
