Today, the government approved subsidy rates for phosphate and potassium fertilizers for the 2026 Kharif season. Speaking to the media in New Delhi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the estimated budgetary requirement for the 2026 Kharif season would be approximately 41,533 crore rupees.
He stated that this decision would ensure that farmers have access to fertilizers at subsidized, affordable, and reasonable prices. The government has also approved the 41-kilometer-long Jaipur Metro Phase 2 from Prahladpura to Todi Mod. Mr. Vaishnaw said that this will include 36 stations, and the project will cost over 13,000 crore rupees. The project will be implemented by Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited, a 50:50 joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan.
The Phase 2 corridor will provide seamless connectivity to major activity centers such as the Sitapura Industrial Area, VKIA, Jaipur Airport, Tonk Road, SMS Hospital and Stadium, Ambabari, and Vidhyadhar Nagar. It includes underground stations in the airport area. It will integrate with the operational Phase 1 through planned interchanges and feeder systems, ensuring a unified and continuous metro network across the city.
