March 16, New Delhi – Bookings for LPG refills have decreased to approximately 7.7 million from 8.8 million, indicating a reduction in panic buying after the government announced that there was no shortage of petrol, diesel, or cooking gas, and that supplies remained stable despite the conflict in West Asia.
The government stated that domestic refineries are operating at high capacity, with adequate crude oil stocks, ensuring sufficient fuel supply.
India remains self-sufficient in petrol and diesel production.
LPG bookings decreased from 8.8 million on Friday to 7.7 million on Saturday, while online bookings increased from 84% to approximately 87%.
Citizens have been advised not to panic-buy, as fuel stocks are adequate nationwide.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that there is no shortage of domestic LPG in the country, and added that those spreading panic are harming citizens.
