Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare announced today that the government will launch a comprehensive nationwide series of regional agricultural conferences during April-May 2026, organized by region. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare stated that these conferences will provide a valuable platform for structured dialogue, review, and future planning in the agricultural sector. The initiative aims to bring together Union and State Agriculture Ministers, scientists, progressive farmers, farmer organizations, Farmer Producer Organizations, agri-startups, and private sector stakeholders to jointly review the progress of key schemes and formulate forward-looking strategies based on field-level insights. Minister Chouhan shared details about the conferences, stating that the first zonal conference for the Western Region will be held on April 7th in Jaipur. He also mentioned that the Northern Region Conference will be held on April 17th in Lucknow, covering Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. In addition, the Eastern Region Conference is scheduled for April 24th in Bhubaneswar, with participation from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal.
