Government Measures Ensure LPG Availability.webp

As tensions escalate in the Middle East, officials at an LPG facility in Jammu have reassured the public that there is no need to panic about the availability of Liquefied Petroleum Gas.

Officials stated that sufficient LPG supply is available for both domestic and commercial consumers, and that the distribution system is functioning normally.

This assurance comes as the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has taken several measures to ensure adequate LPG availability across the country, in light of ongoing geopolitical disruptions affecting fuel supply.

According to the ministry, oil refineries have been directed to increase LPG production so that domestic needs can be met without disruption. Priority has been given to LPG supply for household consumers.

To prevent hoarding and black marketing, the government has also introduced a 25-day inter-booking period. Under the revised rule, consumers will now be allowed to book only one LPG cylinder within 25 days, whereas previously two cylinders could be booked during the same period.

The ministry further stated that imported LPG intended for non-domestic sectors will be prioritized for essential services such as hospitals and educational institutions, while a committee will review supply requirements for other commercial sectors to ensure balanced distribution.
