
President Droupadi Murmu stated today that people with disabilities play a crucial role in the development of a country. Addressing the Purple Fest in New Delhi, the President said that the festival highlights the abilities of people with disabilities. She also emphasized that people with disabilities have achieved remarkable accomplishments in various fields such as literature, sports, science, and others.
On this occasion, President Murmu highlighted government schemes such as the Pradhanmantri Divyasha Kendra and the Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan, which aim to provide benefits to people with disabilities. She added that these schemes provide opportunities for people with disabilities to become self-reliant and independent. She further reaffirmed the government's commitment to providing opportunities for people with disabilities to grow with dignity. The President also emphasized that people with disabilities will play an important role in the country's journey towards "Viksit Bharat 2047."
