April 10, New Delhi: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas confirmed on Friday that LPG distributors have sufficient stock, with no shortages reported.

This was stated at the government’s high-level inter-ministerial briefing, which assesses the country’s readiness amid the ongoing West Asia conflict.

Joint Secretary Sujata Sharma in the ministry said that petrol pumps across the country also have sufficient supplies of petrol and diesel.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is also reviewing the situation across all ports and has directed immediate action to address any issues raised by exporters. The ministry also confirmed that all Indian seafarers in the region are safe, with no incidents involving Indian-flagged vessels in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Power said that over 70% of India's electricity is generated through thermal power, and coordinated efforts with the coal and railways ministries have ensured adequate coal stocks to keep plants running smoothly.

On the evacuation front, the Ministry of External Affairs stated that the Indian Embassy in Tehran has facilitated the movement of over 2,100 nationals from Iran to Armenia and Azerbaijan for onward travel to India, including hundreds of students and fishermen.
