Gangtok, March 27 Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang extended greetings to the people of the Himalayan state on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami on Friday.

In his message, the governor said that the holy occasion of Ram Navami symbolizes the birth anniversary of Lord Ram, which is celebrated on the ninth day of the Chaitra month.

"Ram Navami is a symbol of the triumph of good over evil and of religion over evil. This festival gives us the opportunity to reflect on Lord Ram's teachings and to embrace his values – truth, justice, compassion, and sacrifice – in our daily lives. I wish that Lord Ram's ideals guide us all and inspire us to create a more peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive Sikkim. Congratulations again," he said.

The chief minister, in his message, also said that Lord Ram's life stands as a timeless example of truth, duty, and righteousness.

"His unwavering values, as an ideal son, a devoted brother, a loving husband, and a just king, continue to inspire generations," Tamang said.

"May this blessed occasion fill every home with peace, good health, and prosperity. Let us draw strength from his teachings and strive to uphold integrity, compassion, and goodness in our everyday lives, as we work together towards a brighter and more harmonious future," he said.
