
March 13, Kohima: Newly sworn-in Governor of Nagaland, Nand Kishore Yadav, today called for collective efforts to strengthen peace, development, and opportunities for the youth while preserving the state's rich cultural heritage.
Addressing the people of Nagaland after assuming office, he expressed gratitude to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting him with the constitutional responsibility of serving as the Governor of Nagaland.
Mr. Yadav said that Nagaland occupies a special place in India's diverse cultural landscape, highlighting the vibrant traditions, strong community values, and resilience of the Naga people.
He noted that the unique heritage of the state is a matter of pride not only for Nagaland but for the entire country.
Emphasizing the transformation taking place across India in recent years, which have strengthened the country's global standing, he said that the North Eastern region has received renewed focus, particularly in connectivity and economic development, helping to integrate the region more closely with the nation's growth story while safeguarding its distinct identity.
Referring to the progress made in Nagaland, Mr. Yadav said that the state has been steadily progressing in various sectors such as infrastructure, education, agriculture, tourism, digital connectivity, and entrepreneurship. He noted that these developments are creating new possibilities for economic growth and improving the quality of life for the people.
The Governor particularly lauded the energy and talent of the youth of Nagaland, noting their achievements in education, sports, arts, entrepreneurship, and public service.
He emphasized the need to create more meaningful opportunities for educated youth and encouraged young people to explore entrepreneurship, agriculture-based enterprises, tourism, and the digital economy.
The Governor stressed the importance of peace and stability and assured his commitment to the people to uphold the Constitution and work closely with the state government and all sections of society.
Governor Yadav expressed hope that through collective efforts, Nagaland will continue to move forward towards prosperity while preserving its unique cultural identity.
