Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the rapid growth of India's startup ecosystem in the defense and space sectors. He emphasized that this transformation is being driven by the country's MSMEs, which are integrating Indian innovation into global supply chains.
Mr. Goyal was addressing participants of the 66th cohort of the National Defence College in New Delhi on the theme "Boosting India's Manufacturing Sector: The Role of Government and Policy."
He emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's emphasis on speed, skill, and scale as a key driver of India's success in self-reliance within the defense sector. Mr. Goyal also focused on two strategic sectors – semiconductors and clean energy – to further drive India's journey towards self-reliance.
