Jammu, April 6 Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Sat Sharma reviewed the party's preparedness of urban local bodies (ULBs) and panchayati raj cells on Monday and urged cadres to be ready for upcoming elections, which are proposed in the near future.
Sharma, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, along with general secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul, addressed a review meeting of the party cells at the party headquarters here.
Emphasising organisational preparedness at the grassroots level, Sharma said that party members must remain active, organised, and closely connected with the public.
"All members of the urban local body and panchayati raj cells, and leaders, must be fully prepared for the upcoming elections, which are proposed in the near future. The cadres must remain active, organised, and closely connected with the public," he told the meeting.
He said that the BJP's strength lies in its booth-level structure and grassroots outreach, adding that every party activist must ensure that the benefits of the Modi government's welfare schemes reach the last person in both rural and urban areas.
Koul conducted a detailed review of the functioning of cells at the block level and ULB cells at the committee level, stressing organisational effectiveness and seeking feedback from ground-level workers to further strengthen outreach.
"The effectiveness of our organisation is reflected in its activity at the grassroots. Regular engagement, proper coordination, and efficient execution of programmes at every level are essential to maintain the BJP's strong connect with the public," he said.
He highlighted the role of party cadres in expanding outreach through various programmes and stressed the need to further strengthen grassroots presence.
The leaders presented a report on programmes conducted by both cells and shared a roadmap for upcoming initiatives aimed at enhancing public participation and organisational expansion.
They called for intensified efforts through well-planned activities to deepen public engagement.
