Latur, February 23 A 17-year-old girl demonstrated resilience and determination by taking her HSC Maths exam in the Latur district a few hours after performing her father's last rites.
Shivani Devkatte, a student of Sambhaji Kendre College, lost her father, Madhav, who worked as a driver in Pune, to a heart attack on Friday evening. His funeral was held in their hometown, Gudgal village, in the Ahmedpur tehsil, on Saturday morning, according to an official.
"Shivani chose to honour her father by taking her Maths exam on Saturday. Just one and a half hours after her father's funeral, she travelled 50 kilometers to her exam center at Shri Gurudatt Junior College for an exam that started at 11 am," said BT Lahane, the principal of Sambhaji Kendre College.
