
New Delhi, April 9 – Gujarat Titans narrowly defeated Delhi Capitals by one run in a thrilling match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, a game that will be etched in the memories of everyone at the Arun Jaitley Stadium for years to come. David Miller almost pulled off an incredible victory, but Kuldeep Yadav’s run-out on the final ball sealed the win for Gujarat Titans, their first victory of the IPL 2026 season.
Shubman Gill, Jos Buttler, and Washington Sundar all scored fifties to help Gujarat Titans reach 210/4. Buttler's explosive batting, with 52 off 27 balls, including three fours and five sixes, was a highlight. Gill, returning after a neck injury, scored 70 off 45 balls, while Sundar contributed 55 off 32 balls with six boundaries and two sixes.
Delhi Capitals, led by KL Rahul, struggled to keep pace. Lungi Ngidi bowled effectively, taking 1/24 in his four overs. However, Rahul's 92 off 52 balls with 11 fours and four sixes kept Delhi in the game.
With two runs needed off two balls, Miller decided to take a single, hoping to finish the game himself. Prasidh Krishna bowled a slower ball, and Kuldeep Yadav was run out, leaving Miller and Delhi Capitals disappointed.
