Surat, April 8 Four members of a family were killed after their van collided with a stationary truck near Palsana in Surat, Gujarat, on Wednesday, police said.
The accident occurred at 12:30 am, according to Bardoli Division Deputy Superintendent of Police H L Rathod.
"The van crashed into a truck that was stationary due to a flat tire. The family of four, who were travelling from Mumbai to their hometown in Khambhat, Gujarat, died instantly in the accident," he said.
The deceased were identified as Hozefa Adenwala (39), Murtuza Y Adenwala (45), Murtuza Z Adenwala (48), and Munira Adenwala (46), the police said.
Following the alert, police from Palsana rushed to the accident site, and the bodies were taken to a government hospital for post-mortem, they said.
An investigation into the accident is underway, Rathod said.
