
Gandhinagar, April 2 Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi has described his state as the safest for women, and said everyone is aware of the situation in other states.
He was speaking on Wednesday evening at the inauguration of the Gandhinagar North Premier League 2026 (GNPL), organized by local MLA Rita Patel.
"Women in Gujarat feel safe even late at night during the Navratri festival. They return home fearlessly after enjoying garba. Gujarat is the safest state for women. We all know the situation in other states," Sanghavi said.
He also spoke about the upcoming elections to local self-governing bodies in the state, scheduled to be held on April 26.
"The date for the elections has been announced. It is time to vote and give answers to all those who try to defame our state and question its safety," he added.
The Deputy CM emphasized the importance of sports, and said that the youth are the future of the state.
He also played cricket with participants of the GNPL competition for some time.
