
Gumla (Jharkhand), February 23 The bodies of two people, including a girl, were found hanging from a tree in the Gumla district of Jharkhand on Monday, police said.
The bodies were recovered from a location near the Akara Gabri village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Kamdara Police Station, an official said.
Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, he said.
"The bodies have been handed over to their families after the post-mortem examinations at the Gumla Sadar Hospital," said Mukesh Kumar, the officer in charge of the Kamdara Police Station.
According to villagers, the two deceased were allegedly involved in a love affair for some time, the OC added.
A case of unnatural death has been registered, and the police have initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, he said.
