
Jalandhar, March 20 Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the construction of the Sri Guru Ravidass Bani Adhyayan Centre near Dera Sachkhand Ballan will begin soon after the formalities are completed.
During a visit to the dera, Cheema reviewed the project plan and said that the state government has taken possession of 10.50 acres of land in the villages of Naugajja and Faridpur for the centre.
He said that the layout plan has been approved by the head of the dera, Sant Niranjan Dass, and the tendering process will be completed shortly to start construction work.
The minister said that the centre will have modern classrooms, a library, and coaching facilities for about 500 students to study the teachings of Guru Ravidass.
He added that a hall showcasing the life and teachings of Guru Ravidass will also be built.
The campus will include hostels for boys and girls, staff quarters, a canteen, and sports facilities.
Cheema said that the project is being undertaken under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to promote Guru Ravidass's teachings globally.
Several MLAs and officials were present during the visit.
