
Gurugram, March 9 – Gurugram Police on Monday arrested two individuals, including a woman, in connection with an attack on a patient receiving treatment at the Civil Hospital, according to police officials.
The accused, identified as Pawan, allegedly assaulted his live-in partner on March 9, after which she was admitted to the civil hospital for treatment, they said.
Another woman, who mistook the patient for Pawan's girlfriend, allegedly threw toilet cleaner at her, they added, noting that police are questioning both individuals.
A 30-year-old woman suffered severe burns to her face and body after a corrosive substance was allegedly thrown at her in the Civil Hospital. She was later referred to PGIMS, Rohtak, according to the police.
According to police, the accused woman, identified as Sakshi, 30, a resident of Rewari district, revealed that she mistook the patient for Pawan's girlfriend and threw toilet cleaner at her.
The police also arrested Pawan, a resident of Rewari, who had been living with the victim in a flat in Sector 72 in a live-in relationship.
"During interrogation, it was revealed that Sakshi had a fight with her husband's female friend, Meenakshi, who was admitted to the civil hospital for treatment," a spokesperson for the Gurugram police said.
Sakshi, after seeing Meenakshi, threw toilet cleaner at her, he added.
The complainant had registered the case naming Pawan, but his role has not yet been revealed, he said, adding that further investigation is underway.
