Gurugram, March 23 An autorickshaw driver was killed and a passenger was injured after a car hit the vehicle on the Jharsa Chowk flyover here, police said on Monday.
An FIR has been registered at the Sector 40 police station, they said.
The accident occurred around 5 am on Sunday when the autorickshaw driver, Nawal Mehto, was travelling from Anand Vihar in Delhi to Gurugram, police said.
A speeding car rammed into the vehicle from behind, causing it to overturn, they said, adding that the car driver fled the scene after the accident.
Mehto and a passenger were injured and taken to the Sector 10 Civil Hospital, where the auto driver died during treatment.
The passenger who sustained minor injuries was discharged after first aid, police said.
Efforts are underway to identify the car driver using CCTV footage, they added.
The accused will be arrested soon, a police officer said.
