Commercial operations begin at the new integrated terminal at Guwahati Airport
In Assam, commercial operations at the integrated terminal of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati will begin today, marking a significant addition to the state's aviation infrastructure.
The terminal has the capacity to serve approximately 13 million passengers annually. Constructed at a cost of ₹4,000 crore, the new terminal features modern technology, an attractive architectural design, and advanced passenger facilities.
Notably, the terminal, which prominently uses bamboo-based construction, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 20.
