Liquor worth ₹10 lakh seized in Guwahati; Two held
In a major operation, Basistha Police seized liquor worth approximately ₹10 lakh during a raid in Guwahati. The consignment, reportedly originating from Meghalaya, was recovered at Jorabat. The liquor was being smuggled in a vehicle and concealed within coffee cups and plastic items. Police seized a total of 66 cartons during the operation.
The consignment was allegedly being transported to Nagaland. Two individuals, identified as Ajibor Rahman and Basanta Das, have been detained in connection with the case.
In a separate operation, Dispur Police also seized ₹6 lakh from a vehicle at Khanapara.
