
Gwalior, February 23 Idols and valuable objects used in worship were allegedly stolen from a temple inside the Amma Maharaj Chhatri Complex, which houses memorials of members of the former Scindia dynasty, in Gwalior city, Madhya Pradesh, police said on Monday.
The theft occurred on Saturday night and Sunday morning at the Vishnu temple within the complex, according to an official.
City Superintendent of Police Manish Yadav said that Amar Singh, a security guard at the complex, had reported the theft.
"Some unidentified individuals had taken away idols and objects used in worship, made of silver, brass, and copper," he said. "The temple priest noticed the theft on Sunday."
Yadav said that police have formed a team and are examining CCTV footage installed at the historic site.
