Greater Noida, February 25 Saptak Talwar delivered a clutch performance in the final stages of the round to defeat Rashid Khan in a second-round singles match of PGTI's 72 The League here on Wednesday.

Talwar's Mumbai Aces bounced back from a poor opening day and earned nine points against Kolkata Classics, bringing their total to 11 points.

The overnight leaders, Rajasthan Regals, had a less successful day, winning only one match and drawing another against Charminar Champions, but remained at the top of the standings (17 points), joined by UP Prometheans.

The Prometheans were denied a solo lead by a remarkable second shot from inside the trees by American Jhared Hack on the final hole. A hooked 8-iron shot from 180 yards went straight into the hole for an eagle, securing a win that seemed impossible at one stage in the four-balls.

The 27-year-old Talwar felt a sense of accomplishment on this golf course, where he won his first title as a professional golfer last year at the Adani Invitational Golf Championship.
