
April 02, New Delhi: India's indigenous fighter jet program is back in the spotlight as the grounded fleet of 36 HAL Tejas Mark 1 aircraft is set to resume operations within a week following technical clearance.
In an exclusive interview with DD, D. K. Sunil, Chairman and Managing Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), discussed the company's record revenues of ₹32,250 crore, upcoming engine deliveries from General Electric, and the timeline for the induction of HAL Tejas Mark 1A fighter jets.
The resumption of operations for the Tejas fleet marks a key step in strengthening India's indigenous defence capabilities and further advancing the HAL program.
