February 26, Srinagar: The Department of Handicrafts & Handloom, Kashmir, successfully concluded its two-day sale event at Kashmir Haat, showcasing a diverse range of handicrafts and handloom products created by trainees from various departmental training centres.
The event aimed to provide a dedicated platform for budding artisans to display and market their creations while promoting the rich traditional craftsmanship of Kashmir. Visitors witnessed a wide array of handmade products reflecting the region’s artistic heritage, intricate designs, and skilled workmanship.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director of Handicrafts & Handloom highlighted the importance of such initiatives in empowering local artisans, enhancing their market exposure, and strengthening the overall handicrafts and handloom sector in the region. He appreciated the efforts of the trainees and encouraged them to continue preserving and promoting Kashmir’s centuries-old craft legacy.
The event witnessed encouraging participation from visitors and buyers, boosting the morale of young artisans and supporting sustainable livelihood opportunities in the sector. Deputy Director Handicrafts & Handloom Mirza Shahid Ali also shared his views on the significance of sustained promotional activities for the growth of the craft industry.
