New Delhi, March 28 "Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos", starring Vir Das in the lead role, is set to make its OTT debut on Netflix on April 1.
The film, which was released in theaters in January, marked Das's directorial debut, one of the most prominent stand-up comedians in India and a occasional movie and series star. Produced under Aamir Khan's production banner, Aamir Khan Productions, the film also features Mona Singh and Mithila Palkar in lead roles.
Das, who played the role of a clumsy but enthusiastic spy whose missions trigger unexpected consequences, said the film was a "slightly mad, self-aware ride". "There's something special about comedy when it's watched in your own space; it becomes more personal and more instinctive.
"What excites me most is that the film now gets to travel across living rooms, languages, and sensibilities. I'm really curious to see what people take away from its madness, whether it's the humor, the chaos, or unexpectedly, the heart," he said in a statement.
The film was co-directed by Kavi Shastri.
