Chandigarh, April 2 Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed all departments to prepare action plans for implementing budget announcements within a month of presenting the 2026-27 budget.
Reviewing progress in a meeting with senior officials here on Thursday, he said that details of all announcements should be taken to the village level through Gram Sabha meetings, where discussions should be held, resolutions passed, and reports sent to the Chief Minister's Office.
Officials said that the state provides support to farmers through schemes such as the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana and the Chief Minister Horticulture Insurance Scheme, which covers 46 types of crops.
Farmers pay a 2.5 per cent premium, while the rest is borne by the government.
In the budget, Saini announced an increase in compensation under the horticulture insurance scheme.
Compensation for fruit crops has been raised from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 per acre, and for vegetables and spices from Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 per acre in case of crop loss due to natural disasters.
The chief minister said the early review of announcements reflects the government's commitment to their speedy implementation.
He also directed that meetings of all 775 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) be held, in which he will participate, and said farmers should work collectively to increase their income in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Officials said that the Centre has set a target of forming 10,000 FPOs across the country, out of which Haryana has been assigned 172, and several have already been set up with the support of central agencies.
