Chandigarh, February 17 Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Tuesday that the BJP government in the state has already fulfilled 60 out of the 217 promises it made during the Assembly elections, while work is progressing rapidly to fulfill the remaining promises.
He stated that the promises made by the BJP are "not mere promises, but commitments." "What we promise, we deliver. We have been working at a rapid pace to fulfill our promises," Saini said.
Out of the 217 promises made in the 'Sankalp Patra' (election manifesto), 60 have already been fulfilled, while the remaining commitments are being completed, and work is progressing rapidly on 120 promises, Saini told a press conference here.
"In our 'Sankalp Patra', these were not promises for us, but the 'Sankalp Patra' is like the holy Gita for us," Saini said. Before the Vidhan Sabha election in 2024, we had said that our aim was to provide good governance, transparent administration, and ensure public welfare, he added.
He claimed that unlike the opposition Congress and its allies, which do not fulfill the promises they make or fulfill some of them at the fag end of their government's tenure, the BJP government fulfills the key promises immediately after coming to power.
Saini spoke about the fulfillment of key promises by his government, including the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, a scheme that provides monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,100 to eligible women aged 23 years and above.
"We had promised the farmers of Haryana that 24 crops would be procured at the minimum support price (MSP). Today, Haryana is the first state in the country where 24 crops are being procured at an MSP," he said.
On the upcoming Budget Session of the Haryana Assembly, which begins on February 20, Saini said that 2,199 suggestions were received from various stakeholders during his thirteen pre-budget meetings he held with them.
He further said that suggestions have also been received from the people of Haryana through emails, letters, and through the government's chatbot.
"We had sought suggestions from people regarding the budget, and 12,400 suggestions have been received... Nearly 4,000 to 5,000 suggestions will be incorporated in the budget for 2026-27," he said.
