Chandigarh, March 31 Haryana is fully prepared for the 2026-27 Rabi procurement season, which will begin on April 1 and continue until May 15, said Rajesh Nagar, Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, on Tuesday.
All markets in the state have been equipped with the necessary facilities and cleanliness arrangements for farmers, he added.
He said that district food and supply controllers and agency managers have been given special training to ensure smooth procurement.
Procurement will be biometric-based, allowing either the farmer or one authorized nominee to complete the process, he said.
The minister said that all markets have been geo-fenced to ensure that activities such as gate pass issuance, auctions, J-forms, and the lifting of produce take place only within the market premises.
He added that uploading of vehicle photographs, along with registration numbers, is mandatory for gate passes.
Exit gate passes and storage operations will also be monitored through geo-fencing to prevent irregularities.
Procurement will be done for farmers registered on the Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal, with crop verification through satellite imagery and checks by officials, he added.
