Hate Crime Investigation Launched After Ambulance Fires

Hate Crime Investigation Launched After Ambulance Fires.webp

March 23, New Delhi: Four ambulances belonging to a Jewish community organization were set on fire in north London in what is suspected to be an antisemitic hate crime.

The vehicles belonged to Hatzola, a non-profit volunteer organization that responds to medical emergencies. The Metropolitan Police said an investigation has been launched, with officers remaining at the scene. The arson attack is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime.

Multiple cylinders on the vehicles exploded during the incident, causing windows to shatter in a nearby apartment building. No injuries have been reported.

Attacks against Jewish communities and targets have increased worldwide since the October 2023 Hamas attacks in Israel. The most severe antisemitic incident in Britain last year was the Manchester attack that killed two Jewish worshippers during Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
